Flake Line Operator

Grain Millers is an ingredient supplier to all the major food companies across the world.  The Flake Line Operator position is on the finishing side creating different flaked products for our customers.  These products are packaged in 50 pound bags, super sacks or pneumatic trailers.  This position will require you to coordinate and plan production scheduled with other operators in the facility to accomplish your production goal.

Regular duties and responsibilities:

• Operate the flaking system.
• Direct product to proper bin or process area for packaging.
• Perform quality and production checks with documentation as scheduled.
• Authorization to stop all production runs based on quality and safety issues that put employees in jeopardy or the quality of the product is compromised.
• Direct warehouse personnel on production schedule to ensure proper packaging.
• Coordination/planning and communication of production run with operations and support functions.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks on systems as assigned.
• Perform operational cleaning tasks on a regular schedule with documentation. 
• Assist warehouse and packaging personnel when needed.
• Work outside at heights when maintenance on equipment and transfer piping is required.

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Leadership and communication skills necessary for effective transfer of production information to all co-workers including management and packaging personnel.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs up to 80 feet.
• Ability to facilitate planning and coordination of production runs.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
