Environmental Sustainability Manager

We are seeking a well-organized, self-motivated individual with food industry experience and a passion for sustainability. Must be tech savvy and comfortable with spending time talking with farmers and others within our business operations. This critical role will support Grain Millers procurement, sales, and our manufacturing facilities. Must be comfortable communicating primarily via email or phone as well as on-site visits with our customers and suppliers. Travel is expected up to 25% of the time.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Focus on partnering with suppliers and customers to drive sustainability goals, objectives, and strategies; creates and implements plans for related projects.
• Evaluates sustainability initiatives considering factors such as cost, feasibility, and impact.
• Drafts and delivers presentations and reports to communicate sustainability initiatives highlighting their effectiveness and environmental impact.
• Produces marketing resources, including brochures or online media, to promote sustainability practices, procedures and objectives.

• Pioneer a mill-based sustainability effort focusing on water, energy, and waste within Grain Millers Facilities.
• Assists and provides leadership in the development and implementation of on-farm Regenerative and Carbon Neutral or Carbon Negative programs as defined by customers and governmental agencies.
• Takes a crucial role in the development and implementation of sustainability focused identity preserved (IP) programs designed to meet specific customer requirements and value identification, interacting with sales teams to define success.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture Business, Communications, Sustainable Ag., Sustainability or related field.
• Knowledgeable in Agriculture production & Corporate Sustainability
• Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse customer, colleague, and vendor population. This includes listening and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated skill in organization, planning, and problem solving.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with vendors, customers, and third parties in a professional manner.
• Must be detail oriented, motivated and a self-starter.
